CONCEPT

HOW CAN I UNDERSTAND ART?

Do You like it?

Do your eyes linger and wander around on it?
Does it evoke feelings or thoughts in you?

Then You understand it.

There is no secret code. You don’t need a degree of any kind to appreciate what you see.
The only thing You need is that intriguing gut feeling, that tells you there’s something pleasant about what You see.

If you get that feeling – trust your instinct.
Art is allowing yourself to feel.

ART IS PERSONAL

While I paint for You – Art is still personal.

The way You perceive Art is personal – the way I paint is personal.
That is what makes it interesting.

I like light, white and bright.
I’m a minimalist. I don’t like clutter around me, I prefer structure, order and clean white surfaces, everywhere.
As a person however – I am not as calm and collected as my surroundings may seem. This comes out in my paintings – I see them as organized chaos. A pleasing kind of chaos.

There is a space between reality and the subconcious, which I like to call “The Haze”. Sometimes Our perceptions of reality, and the Haze meet, caught in brushstrokes on a canvas.

When it happens – it is beautiful.

BUT MY 4-YEAR OLD CAN PAINT THE SAME THING

That is great! Enjoy the fruits of that creative joy.

If however the result isn’t quite what you were looking for –
You are more than welcome back here ;).

WHAT TECHNIQUE AND MATERIAL DO YOU USE?

Acrylics is my choice of paint, it dries quickly and suits the way I work (I do still love the smell of oil paint, as I grew up with it as a constant room fragrance).
I work a lot with texture, stucture and surface  – mixed media of all kinds, that create interesting three dimensional clues. Layering, masking and in the end unveiling only more or less subtle details, is also perpetual to my painting.

I paint on stretched linen canvases, that are custom made according to my wishes.

SIZE MATTERS

Great Art sets the ambiance, and makes a bold impact.
Such a statement is best made by sizing up – think big-ger.

THE PROCESS

If you have found something in the GALLERY that intrigues you – contact me, come see it live at the Studio, and it will be yours.

If you are interested in a commision piece: We meet. We talk, mostly about You, your interests and preferences. We consider placement and possible dimensions.

Painting takes the time it requires. Sometimes a piece comes together instantly, sometimes it is a longer process. Depending on how many projects I have at the moment, roughly said within a month or two.
